Canon PowerShot SX20IS

If you want a good digital camera but can’t afford a DSLR, the Canon PowerShot SX20IS [link] packs a lot of punch for a low price. Featuring a 20x optical zoom with image stabilization, 12.1 megapixels of digital goodness, a 2.5″ articulating LCD screen, and the ability to capture HD video, it has a lot of in common with its more expensive brothers.

One plus about the Canon Power Shot SX20IS is that it used standard AA batteries instead of a proprietary battery pack. This saves money and means that no matter where you go, you’ll always be able to find a battery for it. That being said, you’ll probably want to get a good set of rechargeable batteries like these to go with it.
