New Kohjinsha notebook has two screens!

November 28, 09 by Daniel Foster

Kohjinsha_dz

The Kohjinsha DZ is unlike any notebook you’ve seen before. In fact, it puts all other lightweight laptops to shame with its two 10.2″ inch screens! Inside, the hardware is very similar to other products on the market: Athlon Neo MV-40 at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, Radeon HD 3200 video, and a 160 GB 5400 RPM hard drive. But it has two screens!

The whole thing weighs 4 pounds (1.84 kg), has a reported battery life of 4.5 hours, and can run either Linux or Windows.  Each LCD is 1024×600 resolution and LED backlit. When the Kohjinsha DZ is not in use, one screen folds under the other for easy storage.

It is currently available in Japan only. It can be purchased online at GeekStuff4U starting at  ¥95,800 (1,104 USD). This is a little pricey considering the hardware inside, but hey, you’re paying for the novelty of having two displays in a 4-pound notebook.
