Toro 1800 18-Inch Electric Curve Snow Thrower

Toro 1800 Snow Thrower

Snow is beautiful, but shoveling it isn’t. Clearing walkways and driveways of snow can be a huge hassle, and a dangerous task for the elderly and others with heart conditions. Amazon sells a neat little piece of equipment called the Toro 1800 Snow Thrower. The device runs off electricity, so you don’t have to hassle with gas or oil. It can clear 300 pounds of snow per minute, making it perfect for walkways, patios, and driveways. The Toro 1800 is light in weight at only a mere 13.5 pounds, making it usable by just about anyone. You can adjust the chute so the snow blows in any direction you choose.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Toro 1800. It is my snow blower of choice. As one person puts its,

“You just plug it in and go. No gas, no spark plugs, no oil, no tune up. I am often done before the neighbor has cussed enough to get his gas monster (with head lights) running. I have full confidence in this rig. “

The Toro 1800 Electric Snow Thrower is sold out at most retail stores, but can be had on Amazon.com for $299.99 with free shipping.

Mighty Putty

December 30, 07 by Daniel Foster

Normally I don’t write about home improvement, but today is the exception. I’ve been doing a lot of home improvement lately, and heard about this new epoxy called Mighty Putty on Amazon.com. Though it is sold on TV, the putty isn’t junk. At only $18.15 for 6 tubes and free shipping, it can be used to bond just about anything. I used a bit a few days ago to fix a broken mug, and plan on using it later today to fix a broken shower tile. Anyway, I recommend buying it from Amazon instead of ordering it over the phone. It was much faster and easier than calling the number in the commercial.

Buy Mighty Putty now.

Looking for an alternative to Mighty Putty? Try Power Poxy. It is the same type of epoxy as Mighty Putty, and costs only $3.35 for a 20-oz container.

Unlike the previous Nanos, the new generation has a bigger screen that supports video. Battery life has been improved, and the design updated. The new display is 65% brighter than on the old Nano.

Sony Super Quick Charger

Sony Quick Charger

When I got a new digital camera in October, I quickly realized how much battery power it needed. After only taking 120 shots the Duracell alkaline batteries I was using gave out. Being the frugal shopper I am, I went out and bought a Sony quick battery charger. Sony makes good rechargeable batteries, and I wanted the best batteries possible for my camera.

The quick charger came with not only the charger itself, but also 4 ni-mh batteries. I also bought an extra set of 4 ni-mh batteries for long shoots.

The Sony Super Quick Charger batteries are well, batteries. They take around three hours to charge, and work great. The charger has a little light that indicates when the charging process is complete, and automatically cuts of the power once the batteries are fully charged. The charger also works with AAA batteries. I thought about getting the 15-minute charge batteries, but reviewers said they didn’t last very long. Overall I am very satisfied with  my purchase.

I bought my Sony Super Quick Battery Charger with 4 rechargeable batteries at Amazon for only $20. This is a much better price than the $40 Radio Shack wanted to charge me for their house brand battery recharger. I also picked up an extra set of batteries here for $8.

Zalman 5.1 Headphones

Zalman 5.1 Headphones

In the world of gaming, every advantage you can get counts. That’s why I decided to buy the Zalman 5.1 surround sound headphones. The 5.1 surround sound gave me a big advantage in gaming, and so far have lasted more than two years.

I bought the headphones in March of 2005 for my gaming rig. Back then I used them to play Call of Duty: United Offensive. After going from regular headphones to the Zalman 5.1 headphones, I would never go back. The headphones acted almost like a second pair of eyes in the back of my head. Using them I could easily identify a person’s location. I could hear when someone was walking up to me, or if someone was walking to my right or left. This was especially useful to me as when I play FPS games, I’m always afraid the enemy will sneak up from behind and kill me.

Logitech diNovo Edge

The Logitech diNovo Edge is quite an expensive keyboard. Costing $150 at Amazon.com and $199 at retail chains like Best Buy and Circuit City, the keyboard is well known amongst media enthusiast and geeks alike for its quality.

The diNovo Edge has a variety of features that warrant its high price tag. For one, it has wireless bluetooth, allowing it to be used for anywhere. This comes in handy for entertainment setups, where you can control your computer from your sofa. If you use a desk, you can also lay it on your lap if you get bored of the typical computer setup.

V-Moda Vibe

Rarely have I used ear buds worth raving about. The V-Moda Vibe earphones are the exception. Not only do they sound good, but they have looks to match. Made out of aluminum metal, they come in a variety of colors: Red Roxx, Flashback Chrome, Midnight Blue (new), La Mocha, and Gunmetal Black. By far the most popular colors are Flashback Chrome and Gunmetal Black.

Relakks- The key to anonymous surfing?

December 22, 07 by Daniel Foster

Relakks

There’s a new service out there offered by the Swedish Pirate Party called Relakks. The service, which offers to anonymize Internet traffic and get around website blocks by routing web traffic through their servers in Sweden, costs only €50 per year or €5 per month. This comes out to around $72 a year or $7 per month, not bad at all for those behind overzealous firewalls or web filters, or those simply wanting privacy on the web. Check out Daniel’s review of the service after the jump.
