In a first according to the BBC, Google is opening up its testing for users in the United States and the United Kingdom to test 13 new features in its electronic mail service Gmail. This new feature called Gmail Labs provides a new and exciting way for tens of millions of users to run new features and give feedback to the engineers who create them.

Santa Fe is embroiled in a Wi-Fi debate over plans to add wireless access to various public buildings, including libraries, the airport, and City Hall. Arthur Firstenberg, a Santa-Fe local is upset about adding wireless to these buildings due to his “electro sensitivity” disability.

I love Firefox. Not in the star crossed lovers walking down the beach somewhere in the tropics, but I do really love this browser. I am that tech nerd that when fixing my not so computer savvy friends’ computers that installs Firefox on their computers and then tells them that they are so outdated for using Internet Explorer. Nethackz seems to agree with me because recently they posted an article about 15 new add ons that cannot be missed.

Microsoft announced recently its plans to acquire the Portugal based company MobiComp and will become part of Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Business division. The plan is to use MobiComp to bolster a number of services on the Windows Mobile smartphone platform as well as the Windows Live Web services division.

I often find myself telling people that they should get rid of their home telephones and receive an odd looking face as a response. Then I take a deep breath and remember that sadly, in the United States we are behind. I then find myself looking at them again and saying “Give it 5 years, and you will not have one I promise. In Europe they are really starting to not use them.” Reuters recently confirmed this. According to the news source 25% of all members of the European Union have gotten rid of their home telephones.
